Located in Leesville, South Carolina, Big Moon Farm is
based on the Community Supported Agriculture (CSA)
model.
The goal of a CSA is to promote healthy relationships
between a community of people and a local farm and
farmer. Realizing that in these times not everyone can be
on the land growing their own food, a CSA farm entrusts
the care and nurture of the land and crops to one skilled in
farming and agriculture.
The community of people supports the farmer by
purchasing shares in the year's harvest. In exchange, the
farmer provides fresh, in season fruits, vegetables and/or
herbs on a weekly basis.
In the community supported farm structure, each member
of the relationship benefits; the shareholders, the farmer,
the farm (the earth), as well as the greater community.
